For ordinary music listeners, this curve directly determines the "personality" of the headphones. When shopping, if you prefer a balanced, easy-to-listen-to style, look for models with a smooth curve; if you favor bass, look for models with a noticeable low-frequency boost. But keep in mind that the curve is only a reference—it cannot reflect subjective qualities such as soundstage or detail resolution.
Practical advice: Don't just fixate on "flatness." First clarify the type of music you usually listen to, then check the curve to see whether the corresponding frequency range has obvious peaks or dips—if a certain band protrudes by more than 5 dB, it will likely mask other details.
