New Addition to MOONDROP Armature Art series! 24 Balanced Amature drivers!

Moondrop has recently released three new in-ear headphones in rapid succession, covering both pure balanced armature and dynamic driver series. Following the AA12, the brand quickly launched the flagship AA24, while the LAN series also received an update with the LAN 2, showcasing a strong product iteration capability. [1,2,3]

The AA24 features 24 balanced armature drivers per side, utilizing an innovative SUPERWOOFER module to divide the 16 low-frequency units into 8 groups, arranged evenly and with progressive delay along the sound transmission path, improving sound wave diffusion and creating a more realistic listening experience. The mid-high frequencies use 4 aluminum-magnesium alloy diaphragms to ensure density and quality. [1]

This design achieves sound characteristics only possible with multi-driver architectures, meeting expectations in density, texture, spatial performance, and dynamics, providing an unprecedented rich background and a unique, dense, and impactful mid-low frequency performance. [1]

The AA12 continues the pure balanced armature design, with 12 driver units per side using a 4+4+4 three-way crossover structure, with equal energy and quantity in each frequency band. Custom four-in-one balanced armature modules combined with high-precision 3D printing technology improve volume and sound quality consistency. The low frequencies use four stainless steel diaphragm balanced armatures, and the mid-range uses two sets of two-in-one aluminum-magnesium alloy diaphragm composite units. [2]

By using a Y-shaped acoustic structure to mix the mid-range units, a wider frequency range and faster response are achieved. The AA12, with its heritage of XTM complex technology, becomes a new milestone in Moondrop's pure balanced armature series. [2]

The LAN 2 offers two versions: REF and POP. The REF version optimizes mid-high frequencies and instruments, enhancing spatial performance; the POP version adjusts mid-low frequencies and vocals, emphasizing atmosphere. Both use a 0.05mm glass dome composite diaphragm, an internal and external dual magnetic circuit efficient drive structure, and a metal injection molded (MIM) stainless steel cavity. [3]
