Moondrop has collaborated again with renowned reviewer Crinacle to launch the in-ear headphones named Silicon. The two previously joined forces in 2020 and 2024 to create two highly acclaimed "Dusk" models, and this is their third collaboration. [1]
Silicon innovatively integrates a new MEMS solid-state silicon tweeter, a custom dual balanced armature unit, and a wood diaphragm dynamic driver. The dynamic driver adopts an internal and external equal-volume dual magnetic circuit architecture, which can increase stroke and reduce distortion. [1]
Unlike previous MEMS tweeters that require high-voltage amplifiers, Silicon uses a low-voltage design, providing excellent high-frequency response and flat phase characteristics, eliminating the limitations and noise of high-voltage amps, and seamlessly integrating into passive headphone systems. Moondrop has partnered with the game "Wuthering Waves" to launch the U.C.T.S. ear-clip headphones, integrating the auditory atmosphere of the game's post-apocalyptic world. The headphones use a new mold, and the charging case and the earpieces feature character-themed colors and decorative patterns, with Tacet markings and text designs. [2]
The U.C.T.S. adopts a coaxial dual-driver acoustic system: a large bass dynamic driver paired with a micro ring-shaped planar tweeter.
